Living Well Coach

Hello Court Thorn!

My name is Amy Kelland and I am your new Living Well Coach here at the surgery! I work for the Wellbeing Service in Eden and I’m pleased to say I’m now part of your wider GP surgery team. Living Well Coaches work alongside your GP and the other healthcare professionals involved in your care, supporting you to better understand how to look after your wellbeing. We take a holistic approach, considering your physical health, emotional health and social health when working with you. We also work in a goal-focussed way, helping you to set targets that are important to you whilst equipping you to overcome any barriers you might face in reaching those targets.

You might be unsure if the wellbeing service is for you. If that’s the case, I’ve included some examples of scenarios in which individuals might benefit from the support we can offer:

  • Feeling Lonely or worried
  • Experiencing poor sleep
  • Feeling tired & exhausted
  • Wanting to become more active
  • Facing a new diagnosis
  • Adjusting to changing life circumstances
  • Dealing with loss
  • Difficulties putting healthcare advice in to practice
  • Struggling to adjust to life post-pandemic

This list is by no means exhaustive, but these are some examples of the type of situations that we support patients through. If you resonate with any of the above scenarios, why not contact your GP to see if the service would be suitable for you?

I look forward to meeting with many of you over the coming weeks and months. One of my initial aims is to set up a ‘Wellbeing Walk’ for the patients here at Court Thorn, so I hope to see many of you there for a gentle amble and a chat!
