Sarah
I joined the practice on April Fools Day in 2000! Working in a GP practice was a whole new world for me. I trained in the East End of London in Whitechapel (the brown bit on your Monopoly board), and went on to become a theatre and anaesthetic sister. After ten years in London i headed for the Cumbrian hills, where i had my 3 children.
I have been at Court Thorn for 20+, during which time most of you will have seen me with a massive variety of hair colours and also different shades of clogs!! I have now moved with the times and am wearing Dr Marten boots.
During my years here i have gained a special interest in diabetic care, minor injuries, minor surgery and all aspects of chronic diseases. As a Nurse Prescriber i can deal with most minor ailments without you having to see a doctor.
Jill
I have been with the Court Thorn team for the last 14 years.
I completed my nursing training in Newcastle before returning to Cumbria to work. I previously worked as a District Nurse for many years before transferring my skills to practice nursing.
As many of you will already know i also work hard on the family farm. I am married to Andrew and have 3 children.
If i get any spare time i enjoy gardening and skiing.
Nicola
I am from Penrith, where I still live and am married with 2 children.
When I joined the practice I had previously worked at both Carlisle and Penrith Hospitals .
I have worked in the Radiology departments of both, along with The Outpatients department, The District Nurses and The Minor Injuries department at Penrith.
I am excited to be part of the team here at Court Thorn and look forward to transferring my skills.
